Battle of the ‘Plex': Olaplex vs Snaplex vs Cureplex |
Posted: March 19, 2018 |
If you are not new to hair treatments, chances are you have heard of either or all of these: Olaplex, Snaplex, and Cureplex. And if you have not, well, you would still benefit from knowing all about these great hair systems that you can avail of from your salon. Here is a brief comparison of these three products. Intro to the Plexes 1. Olaplex If you are a showbiz fan, you might have read about Kim Kardashian raving about this product. Olaplex works by permanently rebuilding damaged disulfide bonds in your tresses that come from too much chemical processing. Olaplex rebuilds the structure of the hair, allowing you to experience that healthy, shiny hair you have been missing for years. 2. Snaplex Snaplex is a new technology that works by reconnecting damaged and broken hair bonds and adding extra ones to your hair shaft to make it stronger. The system also adds Vitamin E and protein to the hair to make it healthier and repair chemical damages. 3. Cureplex Cureplex is made up of a Niosomes complex which in turn is composed of amino acids, rice derivatives, and soybean isoflavones. These key ingredients protect your hair bonds and hair shafts while adding nourishment to your tresses. The system also ensures 100% penetration of the cortex which is the thickest hair layer and contains most of the hair’s pigment. How They Work All three Plex systems consist of three stages with minimal variations. The first stage is applied as a stand-alone treatment or mixed in with another treatment as you get your hair colored, bleached, straightened, highlighted, or treated with any chemical process. The second part is generally a rinse that imparts nourishment to the shaft for glossy strands. The third and last stage involves a take-home treatment to sustain your salon results. Pros and Cons of the Plexes All plexes do most of what they claim. They all repair the hair bonds that have been broken by chemical processes to return elasticity to the hair and prevent more breakage. They protect the integrity of the hair and minimize more damage. However, they do not do color correction on blonde tresses like Fanola shampoo does, lighten the hair, or rebuild split ends. They also extend the lightening process which can take you as much as nine hours in one session. Many reviews indicate that Snaplex gave the hair a lot of shine and added a bit of thickness to the tresses. Olaplex did the same but left the hair feeling weightless, unlike Snaplex which tended to make the hair a bit oilier. Cureplex worked much the same as Olaplex. All three essentially kept bleached hair stronger and looking much better than it would have without the treatment. Cureplex made the hair feel so much smoother like Olaplex did but at a fraction of the price. Hair fall was also lessened after treatment with Cureplex, and the hair felt so much more manageable than it did with the other two products. No matter which of the three you go for, each of them will leave your hair in better condition that it was before.
